BISAS Conference 2026

Early results from the Breed for Ch4nge project were presented at the BISAS conference in York recently.

Nicola Lambe presented both her own paper looking at results from the first two years of feed intake measurements on lambs, and Karolina Kaseja’s paper looking at genetic relationships between methane traits and lamb growth traits.

Emma Dods presented work showing the reduction in methane intensity associated with genetic improvement of lambing percentage (increasing) and ewe weight (decreasing)  in the Innovis Aberfield.

Joana Lima presented her early work analysing the rumen microbiome of lambs that showed strong relationships with methane output.”
